Maria Z. Medina on Instagram: "✨COVER REVEAL!✨ Introducing the cover of MAKER OF GODS, the second book of the MISTRESS OF BONES duology, on sale December 8th from @wednesdaybooks ! Isn't she absolutely gorgeous?? Thank you so much to my cover designer @kerriresnick and especially @afterblossom_art for the stunning art! You really brought my characters (and all the book-related little details!) to life ❤️ Red is very important in MAKER OF GODS, and it just happens to match perfectly with the first book. I am so proud with how this book turned out, and this cover is just the cherry on top. l can't wait to hold them together!! In the swashbuckling finale to the Mistress of Bones duology perfect for fans of The Bone Shard Daughter and Six of Crows, a necromancer and the God of Death must outwit the Gods themselves—or end the world trying. Necromancer Azul del Arroyo only wanted one thing: to steal her sister back from Death by reclaiming her sister's bones. But after inadvertently uncovering a plot to reawaken the gods and suffering a great loss, she feels further from her goal than ever. In exchange for a chance to save her sister, Azul's only choice is to work together with Death, now in Enjul's body, to uncover an underground group set on finding the rest of the gods in the blood-red city of Bremón. And with his mysterious motivations, silver tongue, and magnetic interest in Azul, Death does not make it easy. Determined to get revenge on the Faceless Witch, Nereida, the Count, and Esparza also find their way to Bremón to join Azul, only to discover that Death is not the only god who has already awakened...and the rest of the gods are not as merciful. Lies, games, and gods collide in Maria Z. Medina's masterful follow-up to Mistress of Bones, where the only thing stronger than the divine is human will. #yafantasybooks #fantasybooks #bookstagram #coverreveal"

Perimeter Books on Instagram: "A small handful back in stock after the stacks of preorders were fulfilled — won’t last! Love & Lightning: A Collection of Queer and Feminist Manifestos (Valiz, Amsterdam). /// Link to store in bio. /// Love & Lightning: A Collection of Queer and Feminist Manifestos is a thematically ordered, inconclusive collection of queer, feminist and queer-feminist manifestos.

Girls Like Us Magazine and author Sarah van Binsbergen have composed a publication showcasing the different forms a manifesto might have, from classical, activist formats to more poetic, associative texts. The manifestos highlighted in this book cross borders, forms and disciplines, refuse binary logics, transcend our concepts of time and space and surpass the neoliberal logic.

Love & Lightning does not claim to be a complete anthology, but it rather aims to show the myriad of ways manifestos can be composed, and what their legacy until this day is. It presents manifestos from 1851 until now, divided into eleven chapters, introduced in their socio-historical and geographical contexts, with many from Asia, Africa, Latin-America. Not only does this publication give new insight in the style of the manifesto, it aims to emancipate the reader to propose their own revolution, whether big or small. #perimeterbooks @valiz_books_projects"

"Happy publication day to Brigid by Kim Curran! The perfect book to pick up for the bank holiday weekend ☘️ In a wild, ancient grove at the edge of winter, a desperate girl prays to the gods for her freedom. None have ever listened to Brigid’s prayers. But this time, a goddess answers . . . with a vision that will transform Brigid’s path forever. The new Christian god is coming, a faith that Brigid can bend to her will, building a sanctuary for other powerless women. But power, like a flame, consumes as it grows. As Brigid rises, challenging kings, defying bishops, her enemies draw closer. What – or who – will she sacrifice to hold on to her legacy? Out in all good bookshops now 📚"

Thank you SO much to the booksta friend who gifted me this from my wishlist 😭😭

I love this cover but I do wish it was more colorful like the international (?) version.

I went into this, expecting the story to mostly follow Yoojin, similarly to Welcome to the Hyunam-dong Bookshop. But this is actually connecting short stories of different patrons.

So, I felt very meh about Hyunam-dong. I definitely enjoyed Soyangri Book Kitchen a lot more, but I think the books have a lot of similarities too.

I really loved Yoojin, even though we don't get as much of her as I would've liked.

This book was overall, sweet and easygoing, even though some of the patrons are dealing with heavy hearts.

A few parts had me a little bored, NGL lol. But I've been reading a lot of high stress books, so the drastic change up in pace wasn't easy to adjust to.

I recommend when you want something to help slow you down, in thoughts and in life.

Have you read this yet?"
